Your body is designed to move

Meet Bridget

My love of movement began with a passion for Dance leading me to train professionally in Stockholm, Sweden and then in London.

While working as a professional dancer I developed a keen interest in injury prevention and the workings of the human body, this led first to studying Anatomy & Physiology and then to creating and leading workshops on Relaxation and Awareness.

In 1997 I did my first course in Therapeutic Massage and qualified a year later.

Pilates

I discovered Pilates when looking for a good system of rehabilitative exercise to train in to add to my hands on treatments.

It became a life changing discovery as I embarked on the teacher training course with Body Control Pilates and became immersed in all things Pilates!

I qualified in Matwork in 2001 and spent the next three years teaching classes and training in the Studio Equipment to become a fully qualified studio teacher.

In 2006 I was asked to join their Education Team and since then have taught on the Matwork Certification programme, Basic, Intermediate & Advanced, Level 3 & 4 and Small Equipment Courses.

I now work for Body Control Pilates as a Master Studio Teacher & Senior Teacher Trainer on the Studio Equipment courses.

Bridget and client on reformer

"I began working with Bridget in 2006 to help with chronic back pain, caused by history of prolapsed discs and advanced spondylosis. With a lot of hard work from both of us, I’m happy to say, for the time being, my spine problems don’t appear to exist."

Manual Therapy

Alongside Pilates I continued to develop my skills and knowledge as a Bodywork therapist at The University of Westminster spending 3 years studying Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Techniques, Patterns of Dysfunction and the Therapeutic Relationship.

Having two wonderful children led to interest in Womens Health and training in Pre & Post Natal Pilates, Pelvic Health & Healing Diastisis Rectii with Carolyne Anthony of The Centre for Womens Fitness.

Meet Duncan

I have been in clinical practice since 2003 using acupuncture, myofascial release and neuromuscular therapy to help a wide range of people with their health problems.

I take an integrative approach employing neuromuscular rehabilitation exercises, qigong, biomechanics, strength & resilience training and east asian medicine. This enables fresh perspectives on finding the hidden causes of long term imbalances and the resulting health issues.
